چکیده

High–resolution ultraviolet (UV) spectra of the outer solar atmosphere show transient brightenings often referred to as explosive events. These are localized regions of small spatial extent that show sudden enhancements in the intensities of lines formed between 20,000 and 200,000 K, accompanied by strong non-gaussian profiles. The present work is an attempt to extract observational consequences from computational simulations of the dynamic response of a coronal loop to energy perturbations. Explosive events are simulated in semi-circular magnetic flux tubes. Thermal energy perturbations drive flows along the flux tube giving rise to thermodynamic phenomena. The temporal evolution of the thermodynamic state of the loop is converted into C iv λ 1548.2 Å line profiles in (non)-equilibrium ionization. Time dependent carbon ion populations are obtained in the nonequilibrium conditions derived from the thermodynamic variables by means of an adaptive grid code. Most important, departures from ionization equilibrium are assessed for the first time under conditions such as those encountered in explosive events.

Observational Signatures of Simulated Reconnection Events in the Solar Chromosphere and Transition Region

We present the results of numerical simulations of wave-induced magnetic reconnection in a model of the solar atmosphere. In the magnetic field geometry we study in this article, the waves, driven by a monochromatic piston and a driver taken from Hinode observations, induce periodic reconnection of the magnetic field, and this reconnection appears to help drive long-period chromospheric jets. B...

Statistical comparison of transition region blinkers and explosive events

Explosive events and blinkers are two observational classes of transients seen on the quiet Sun and an investigation of the significance of and relationship between such events may be critical for understanding basic processes at work in the solar atmosphere. We analysed five time-series spectra of the quiet Sun of transition region O V 629 Å, O VI 1032 Å and O VI 1038 Å lines. We investigated ...

Small-scale Structuring of Ellerman Bombs at Solar Limb

Ellerman bombs (EBs) have been widely studied in recent years due to their dynamic, explosive nature and apparent links to the underlying photospheric magnetic field implying that they may be formed by magnetic reconnection in the photosphere. Despite a plethora of researches discussing the morphologies of EBs, there has been a limited investigation of how these events appear at the limb, speci...

Comparison of Transient Network Brightenings and Explosive Events in the Solar Transition Region.

The relation between transient network brightenings, known as blinkers, and explosive events is examined based on coordinated quiet Sun observations in the transition region line O v lambda630 recorded by the Coronal Diagnostic Spectrometer (CDS), in the transition region line Si iv lambda1402 recorded by the Solar Ultraviolet Measurements of Emitted Radiation (SUMER) instrument, and in photosp...

Chromospheric Upflow Events Associated with Transition Region Explosive Events

Transition region explosive events are considered to be a manifestation of small scale magnetic reconnection ubiquitously occurring | even in the quiet Sun. In this paper, we report a close association between transition region explosive events and chromo-spheric uppow events seen in H. From a comparison of the Big Bear Solar Observatory (BBSO) H spectrograph data and the Solar and Heliospheric...
